The Platforms Association has once again partnered with Alpha FMC this year to explore the key operational resilience challenges across the UK investment platforms ecosystem. This version of the survey is specifically intended for third‑party technology and infrastructure providers that support investment platforms, rather than for platforms themselves.

Sponsored by the Platforms Association’s Operational Resilience Workstream, the survey has been designed in alignment with the Workstream’s priorities, scope and intended outcomes. Building on insights from the Davies Survey, this year’s exercise expands the focus on Operational Resilience, reflecting both the Workstream’s agreed areas of focus and evolving FCA and PRA expectations, viewed through the lens of critical third‑party service provision.

In collaboration with Alpha FMC, the Platforms Association is conducting this survey to gather industry perspectives on what “good” operational resilience should look like in practice for third‑party providers supporting investment platforms. The objective is not to benchmark firms, but to contribute to the definition of a proportionate and effective third‑party operational resilience model that works for all stakeholders across the ecosystem, including platforms, suppliers and regulators.

The survey focuses on the following areas:

  • Third‑party provider Operational Resilience arrangements
  • Third‑party supply chains
  • Operational Resilience challenges for technology and infrastructure providers
 
The findings will inform the 2026 Operational Resilience State of the Nation report, providing a comprehensive, sector‑specific view of how operational resilience is being approached across the investment platforms value chain. The insights will support the Workstream in shaping future industry discussions, guidance and engagement, with a particular focus on practical operating model considerations and collaborative approaches between platforms and their critical suppliers.

The survey is designed to be completed by your firm's senior operational, technology or resilience leadership (for example, COO, Head of Operations, Head of Technology, or equivalent senior delegate) and takes approximately 30 minutes to complete. The deadline for responses is Friday, 19th June
