What is Virtuoso

Yardi Virtuoso is a secure AI platform built for real estate. It runs inside the Yardi ecosystem, working from the same Yardi data your teams already use, instead of bolting on as a separate tool. It isn’t one feature. It’s spread across the products your teams touch every day.

Virtuoso is organized into five components. The first two are baseline capabilities that come with the platform. The remaining three are where firms make active decisions about where and how to adopt AI.

Native AI Agents are embedded across Voyager® modules. They handle defined operational tasks (invoice processing, lease abstraction, work order assignment, customer chat) using AI built directly into the Yardi products your team already runs. There is no separate tool to adopt. For most firms on Voyager 8, this is already on.

What comes with the platform

Virtuoso Assistant is in-product support. Your team can ask questions and escalate to a live Yardi employee without leaving the workflow. It is live across most Voyager 8 modules and resolves most queries without a support handoff.

Where firms make active choices

Virtuoso Connectors connects your live Yardi data to the LLM of your choice (currently Claude, with additional models on the way) enabling natural language queries across your portfolio. AR aging, budget variance, performance returns, loan analytics. Ask a question and get the answer without running a report or exporting data.

Premium Agents are specific, high-value workflow automations created and priced by Yardi. Smart Approval for Procure-to-Pay, Lease Audit Analyst, Month-End Close Coordinator, and others. They deploy quickly and come with a defined anticipated ROI. The token cost is Yardi’s and you pay for the agent.

Composer is Yardi’s no-code agent builder, where consultants and your organization can design custom agents tailored to how their firm operates. Agents built in Composer are reviewed and approved by Yardi before going live in the Virtuoso Marketplace, and they run inside Yardi’s secure environment. This is where Alpha’s Certification on Virtuoso sits.

What certified on Virtuoso means

Companies that are Certified on Virtuoso have published five or more agents on the Virtuoso Marketplace. Reaching that bar means clearing Yardi’s review on every one of those agents, not just building in Composer.

Alpha is among the first firms to reach that threshold. The agents we’ve published handle common Yardi work. They surface data-quality gaps that distort reporting, flag risk in active construction jobs, and clean up vendor and payables records. Some answer operational questions straight from live Yardi data. Each one keeps a person in control. The agents read, analyze, and recommend, but changes to Yardi data stay in human hands.

Where to start, and how Alpha helps

The hard part is knowing which path fits which problem, where to begin, and how the pieces work together across a real portfolio. Most firms will use a hybrid approach, and the work is finding the right mix for how your business runs. That is where Alpha comes in.

Start with what is already on

Before building anything, there is value in using what already comes with the platform. Native AI Agents and the Virtuoso Assistant are included in the Yardi products you already run and need little more than turning on. Getting your team comfortable with these is the lowest-risk way to build familiarity and to see where Virtuoso AI is genuinely useful day to day, which makes every later decision better informed.

Match the approach to the problem

Once you know where the friction is, the question becomes which of the three active paths fits. Each is suited to a different kind of need.

ApproachBest forWhat drives costConsiderations
Virtuoso ConnectorsNatural language analysis and portfolio insight across live Yardi data, financial, operational, cross-fundYou supply the LLM and pay for token usage, which scales with how much you use itFlexible and strong for exploration and one-off analysis
Purchase a Virtuoso agent (Premium or Marketplace)A common, well-defined workflow already handled by a Yardi Premium Agent or a published Marketplace agentA set purchase price, with Yardi supplying the model and bearing the token costFast to deploy, purpose built with a defined focus.
Build a custom agent (Composer)Work that is specific to how your firm operatesThe investment to design, build, and deploy the agent. Yardi handles token cost once it is runningTailored and repeatable but requires expertise in building agents in Composer.

Choosing the right path

A few questions point toward the right path for a given need.

Start with how often the work repeats. Open-ended questions of the data and one-off analysis suit Insights. Work that repeats on a defined schedule, same logic, same data, same output, is better served by an agent.

Standard or firm-specific? When a Premium Agent already covers the workflow, buying is faster and less expensive than building. When the process reflects how your firm operates, a custom agent will fit where an existing one will not.

Weigh speed against control. A Premium Agent can be live with little setup. A custom agent takes time and Composer expertise to build well. That investment pays off when the workflow is genuinely yours.

Cost structure? With Insights, your firm supplies the LLM and pays for usage consumed. With agents, Premium or custom, Yardi supplies the model and covers token cost, so the spend is the agent itself rather than ongoing usage.

Where Alpha comes in

We work with firms at each of these decision points, and then on the work itself.

Guidance. We assess where AI fits in your operations, prioritize the use cases worth pursuing, and recommend the right path for each so you are not building what you could adopt, or adopting what will not fit.

Training. We provide training on building agents in Composer and on how to use the agents in daily work, so your team can get the most out of them.

Building. We can design, build, and publish custom agents tailored to your processes, using the same approach that earned us the Certification on Virtuoso.

Support. As the platform changes and your needs grow, we keep agents current and update them, so what you build keeps working.
