Client Challenges
- The client was struggling with inefficient, risky and unscalable operational processes between its ESG and Investment teams
- In addition, money was being wasted through duplicative purchases of the same ESG data by different teams
- This meant investment teams were unable to access the ESG data they required, and the business struggled to disclose key ESG data to clients
- As part of a wider ESG integration program that Alpha led, we ran a vendor selection to rationalize the client’s spend on ESG data and enhance its use across the business
Alpha Approach
- We worked with the client’s central ESG team and representatives from 10+ asset classes to map the existing use of ESG data across the business against requirements, identifying gaps and areas of duplicate spend
- We produced a comprehensive RFP capturing key functional and non-functional requirements, and developed an evaluation framework to score vendors’ responses
- We then led the implementation of the preferred provider and the de-commissioning of the other incumbent
- In parallel, we developed options and suggested actions for further ESG integration across the business in line with the client’s vision and market positioning
