The Saudi asset management industry has more than tripled in under a decade. Assets under management reached SAR 1.29 trillion at the end of Q1 2026. Vision 2030 and a sustained program of regulatory reform have built a market that is increasingly open to international participation.

This paper is the first release in an Alpha FMC series covering the Saudi Arabian asset management industry and its future. It examines the industry’s scale, the reforms opening it to international firms, and the position of foreign managers within it. It draws on desk research and our 2026 survey of international investment managers.
