Client Challenges

Our client was looking to globalise its asset management functions in the US and UK, which had previously operated independently. As a first step, the client sought to enable investment teams in both locations to work collaboratively on global portfolios and strategies. This was currently a challenge due to the existing ‘best of breed’ systems landscape and split middle and back office operating models.

The client engaged Alpha to recommend a global target operating model, to meet front office user requirements and to meet the strategic objectives of the global business.

  • We mobilised a team in the UK and US which leveraged our in-house front office expertise and proprietary methodology to rapidly perform an analysis of the current state architecture
  • Conducted detailed interviews with c.130 front office representatives across multiple UK and US
  • Our final recommendations included a global target operating model, IT & data architecture design, high-level implementation roadmap and business case
