Simon joined Alpha in January 2017 from Grant Thornton’s Financial Services Consulting team, where he worked on a number of strategic change, digital and compliance projects across Banking and Capital Markets. Prior to this he worked at Accenture supporting a number of major transformation programmes within Financial Services. Outside of work Simon enjoys cycling, badminton and board games, and has a passion for schools and education charities.
Saskia joined Alpha in January 2017 from Architas Multi-Manager where she spent the last two and a half years in the investment team selecting funds (primarily of emerging market equities and Japanese equities). Prior to that, Saskia was an investment writer at Architas for two and a half years. Saskia has a degree in Classics from Cambridge University, is IMC qualified and a CFA charterholder. In her spare time, Saskia enjoys cooking, spinning, travelling and reading fiction.
Holly joined Alpha in December 2016 from Citi’s Custody and Fund Services business where she was a Product Manager for 6 years. She has a strong track record of delivering large, complex projects including middle and back office outsourcing, data feed development and operating model transformation. She specialises in IBOR and cash projection and has experience in a wide range of functions including trade processing, investment accounting, OTC derivatives middle office, fund administration and performance analytics. Holly is a CFA charterholder and holds a BSc in Astrophysics from University College London. Outside of work she enjoys keeping fit and has a black belt in Kickboxing.
Areeb joined Alpha in November 2016 as a Consultant from Deloitte’s Risk and Regulation Practice where he completed their graduate scheme. His experience has focussed primarily on the wholesale conduct sector, aiding asset and wealth managers navigate MiFID, undertake compliance assessments as well as MI reporting and analytics at large retail banks. Areeb holds a BSc in Physics from the University College of London. Outside of work Areeb has a keen interest in zoology, science and creative writing as well as film making/watching.
Sidhant joined Alpha in November 2016 as an experienced management consultant from EY’s Financial Services Advisory practice. He has supported clients to harness the value of data visualisation, drive growth and make informed business decisions through the use of data analytics. His work has primarily been focused on the Wealth and Asset Management sector, ranging from: Data visualisation and MI reporting, compliance analytics, data strategy, remediation and business development. Outside of work, he is a big fan of watching stand-up comedy, travelling and taking part in meditation retreats.
Emma joined Alpha in November 2016 as Lead Recruiter from EY where she spent the last couple of years driving the headcount growth on the flagship RBS account in London and Edinburgh. She spent her time in the Financial Services Assurance team specialising in Audit and Accounting Advisory across Banking and Capital Markets. She was also the Co-Lead of the Inspire Series within EY Women's Network and has a keen interest in Diversity & Inclusion. Outside of work Emma enjoys travelling, blogging and start-up business events. Earlier this year, she trekked 200km across the Sahara Desert, raising funds for charity.
Bernardo joined Alpha in November 2016 from PwC where he spent the last couple of years delivering regulatory change programmes to Capital Markets and Asset Management clients. His most recent focus has been end to end transformation programmes driven by the recovery resolution planning, financial crime and compliance effectiveness. Previously Bernardo worked at Santander UK change management function. Outside work Bernardo plays football, surfs and is training for the London Triathlon.
Matthew joined Alpha in September 2016 as an analyst on the graduate scheme. He previously worked at AMR International, a strategy consulting firm, where he worked on projects including strategy development, commercial due diligence and digital strategy reviews. Prior to that he held several placements in the financial services industry in business management and reporting roles. Matthew holds a BSc in Economics from the University of Warwick. In his spare time he enjoys playing football, going to the gym and playing the trombone and piano.
Zara joined Alpha in September 2016 as an analyst on the graduate scheme. Prior to joining Alpha, Zara worked at Deloitte in the Tax Consultancy team, specialising in tax implications for international assignees in the Financial Services industry. Her experience was predominantly within the Rewards and Mobility team, whereby she advised clients on areas such as employment taxes, share schemes and executive remuneration. Additionally, she has held several placements in the Technology industry and holds experience in data analytics and product design. Zara holds an MSc in Technology Entrepreneurship from University College London and a BSc in Economic History from the London School of Economics. In her spare time, Zara enjoys going to the theatre, trying new restaurants and also has an interest in cars.
Patrick joined Alpha in August of 2016 from Bloomberg LP, where he spent over 17 years in numerous senior management roles, primarily focused in the OMS space. His experience includes being the Global Head of Product Development for AIM, where he oversaw the adoption of an Open architecture for the OMS, as well as AIM’s transition to a modularized, multi-tier platform. Other roles at Bloomberg included managing teams responsible for integration and connectivity, OMS sales, operational risk management, and customer support and operations. Before joining Bloomberg, Patrick spent 6 years trading US Municipal Bonds and Mortgage Backed Securities for Monarch Financial Corp. In an effort to give back, Patrick teaches financial technology to business majors as an adjunct professor at Mercy College in Dobbs Ferry, NY. In his spare time, he enjoys coaching his son’s baseball teams, music, political discourse, and extensive traveling with his family.
Caoimhe joined Alpha in August 2016 from Grant Thornton’s financial services business consulting team, where she started her consultancy career after reading Economics and Politics at the University of York. Her experience is predominately focused on transfer agency and back office operations; in this area Caoimhe has worked on delivering target operating model design, documentation and implementation. Additionally, she has experience with communications, client servicing, service agreements and operational readiness. Outside of work Caoimhe enjoys baking, going to the gym and home improvement.
Will joined Alpha in July 2016 from Elixirr Partners, where he spent over 2 years working both cross-industry and in Capital Markets. At Elixirr Will worked primarily on business transformation, change management and large IT outsourcing projects. Prior to this he supported a number of major transformation projects across Europe as a member of IBM’s Strategy and Transformation Practice Will read Industrial Economics at the University of Nottingham. In his spare time he enjoys travelling and playing rugby, football and tennis.
Richard joined Alpha in June 2016 from EY where he was a manager working in the FS Strategy, Customer & Operations team. He specialises primarily in strategic operating model, cost reduction and investment case projects. Richard started his career at RBS, where he worked in the Commercial and Wealth division’s Strategy team. Outside of work Richard plays hockey and squash.
