Life at Alpha
To clients, we’re a trusted partner for change programmes that improve links between their people and processes.
But to our employees, we’re so much more. Alpha is a rewarding place to work. A meritocratic environment perfect for building a career. And an exciting place to meet some great people.
- You’ll join the leading global asset management consultancy. We work with all top 10 global asset managers and many supporting organisations.
- We work in close teams throughout projects. You’ll form great working relationships and have real opportunities for responsibility from the start.
- We’re growing quickly. Whether it’s the annual profit share payment or the opportunity to buy shares, we want to reward everyone for our success.
- Our offices across Europe, North America, and Asia mean there’s always an excuse to travel, whether it be for client engagements or through our secondment programme. Our offices work closely together, so wherever you may be in the world, you’ll enjoy the same great culture and benefits.
- We’re European Financial Consultancy of the Year two years in a row. And we’re in the Times Top 100 Small Companies to Work for 2017. Not that we’re doing it for the awards.
- From the ski holiday to the fully-funded summer trip, you’ll never be short of things to do. And we guarantee you’ll make good friends along the way.
6 reasons you’ll love Alpha
We believe our people deserve rewards. And we always keep one eye on the competition to make sure we’re offering just as much as (or more than) everyone else.
We want you to feel valued
You’ll get a competitive base salary. In fact, we literally check it against our competitors. And it increases every year.
If that’s not incentive enough, how about commuting allowance, pension contributions, phone expenses, and a high-end laptop?
We’re a big, profit-sharing family
Our employees are the heart and soul of the company. So you’ll get a pay out of profit share. It even goes up as you do – the more senior your role, the more you’ll receive.
When you join us, we’ll also give you an opportunity to buy shares to benefit from our growth.
Help run the business
Everyone at Alpha has extra skills. We give you the opportunity to develop your interests and talents by helping us run the business.
If you’ve got skills in anything from web design to events management, we’ll put them to use.
You can fulfil your ambitions
25 days’ holiday is a good start. We add to it with flexible working, working from home, sabbaticals, secondments, and the option to buy additional holiday.
We know “work-life balance” means different things to our employees, and whether you have dreams of backpacking across South America, or completing your Masters in Creative Writing, we will do our best to help you achieve them.
We appreciate the real you
Our welcoming and friendly culture is open to everyone.
Our Diversity and Inclusion programme is driven by our employees and is continuously evolving, to ensure we meet your individual needs and that there are no barriers to a happy career at Alpha.
We’re devoted to development
We’ll support you to outperform your potential.
All our employees receive five days a year training allowance to use on their choice of programme, from CFA qualifications to graphic design courses. Whatever it takes to realise your potential, we’re committed.
What can you bring to the team?
We look for people who have potential for greatness, regardless of background. That’s why we have such a unique culture, with opportunities for lifelong friendships.
We help clients solve problems. If you want to be a success at Alpha, you’ll love a challenge.
The areas we deal with are complicated. So you need the skills to explain things to our clients in a simple way.
We want to deliver the best possible results. We need you to have the drive to do great work, whatever the deadline.
We’re a team of doers. If you want to take the initiative, and be supported in turning your ideas into reality, Alpha is the place for you.
What our people say
“The phrase ‘work hard play hard’ is a cliché used by many firms, but I’ve really found it to be true at Alpha; we work hard on projects and are expected to contribute to the development of the business, but we’re encouraged to have fun along the way through a packed social calendar and the pursuit of our own personal interests”
Matthew (Analyst) – London, UK
“I am regularly surprised by the amount of support and empowerment that the organisation provides to all its staff, and as a result the amount that we achieve as a team. My life since joining Alpha has been challenging, varied and exciting, exactly as I hoped it would be.”
Alex (Principal) – London, UK
“Alpha is not your usual management consultancy; it is a fun environment where I am supported as an individual, surrounded by talented friends, and appreciated for my contribution. I don’t believe anywhere else would offer me this variety and enjoyment in my work”
Samantha (Manager) – London, UK
“I joined Alpha in 2007 as the twenty first employee. Over the last 10 years I have witnessed Alpha’s transition from a small boutique advisory firm to the world’s leading global asset management consultancy – something I have been extremely proud to have played a part in. Throughout this transformation, Alpha has remained true to its core values, and continues to put the quality, wellbeing, professional development of its people at the heart of what we do.”
Stuart McNulty (UK CEO) – London, UK
“I moved to Alpha having previously worked at one of the Big 4 consultancies and immediately noticed the difference in culture. At Alpha, I am appreciated for my interests and achievements inside and outside the workplace, and feel truly supported as an individual”
Bu (Senior Manager) – London, UK

Made it through the assessment? For the last stage, we’ll invite you back in to meet one of the Senior Directors. We want to make sure that Alpha is the right place for you. Once we’re sure, we’ll give you an offer and a suggested start date. We’ll also link you up with a Buddy to answer any questions you have before you join us.
If you’ve got experience in the financial services industry or the consulting world, and want to join our fun, ambitious business, get in touch.
If you’re successful at the interview, we’ll invite you to take part in a case study.
You’ll assess a business case and present a solution. We want to find out how you work under pressure, deal with clients and solve real-life problems.

If you’re the right person for the job, we’ll let you know by phone and in writing, a day or two after your final interview.
